This programme attracts coaches and practitioners who are ready to move beyond one-to-one work and create transformational group experiences.
This certification is best suited to practitioners with an existing coaching or holistic therapy qualification. It is IPHM accredited and insurable on completion.
There is no statutory requirement to hold a specific qualification to run a retreat in the UK, but without professional training and appropriate insurance most venues will not accept you, many clients will not book you, and you will not have the skills to manage what group facilitation work actually demands. An IPHM accredited retreat facilitation certification is recognised by professional insurance providers and demonstrates to clients and venue hosts that you have been trained to a credible professional standard.
Trauma-informed facilitation means designing and running group experiences with an awareness that some participants may carry trauma responses that are activated by immersive group work, breathwork, emotional release processes or the intensity of a retreat container. A trauma-informed facilitator knows how to recognise these responses, how to create a safe holding environment that reduces the risk of retraumatisation, and what to do when a participant becomes dysregulated. It does not mean the facilitator is a therapist, but it does mean they understand the basic principles of trauma response and can work within them appropriately.
Unless otherwise stated, our courses are delivered online via our learning portal and are self-study with no time limits.
Completing the Trauma-Informed Spiritual Retreat Facilitator Certification at Soul Awakening Academy gives you IPHM accreditation, comprehensive facilitation training, and two ready-to-deliver healing programmes with usage rights. On completion you are qualified to run retreats professionally and eligible for professional indemnity insurance. The programme is delivered online at your own pace and takes three to six months to complete.
